Why Open Source?

I’ve spent my career building apps and services for big brands – Sprint, Chick-Fil-A, and Berkshire Hathaway…just to name a few. As Founder and CEO of Versl, my goal was to make the technology of Fortune 500 companies readily available to small businesses.

We’ve learned a LOT over the past two years in taking our v1 platform to market. Our customers need flexibility and ownership. It was incredibly hard to find a simple pricing model that solved so many complicated scenarios. As counterintuitive as open source seemed, it really made the most sense.

Versl is here to maintain and support the framework, from OS updates to bug fixes to new features. Everyone has access to the source code. Pay us when you need help and support or if you’re using Versl Core in a commercial setting. Open source makes it easy.

World Class Technology

Versl Core was built using the same technology that Forture 500 companies use. I drew directly from my experience launching apps for big brands to create a framework that everyone can use.

Microsoft Xamarin

Xamarin is an open source app platform from Microsoft for building modern & performant iOS and Android apps with C# and .NET. Businesses worldwide, spanning all industries, use Xamarin and .NET to build performant native mobile apps.

Because Xamarin extends .NET, you can use the large ecosystem of packages and libraries available to all .NET developers. You can even author your own libraries that are shared between any applications written on the .NET platform.

Google Firebase

Firebase is a comprehensive app development platform, backed by Google and trusted by top apps. Firebase gives you functionality like analytics, databases, messaging and crash reporting.

Firebase projects are backed by Google Cloud Platform, letting you scale your app to billions of users.

Mux Streaming

Mux powers video streaming and analytics for some of the best video apps and websites. Whether you’re serving a few dozen streams or a few million, Mux manages it all so you don’t have to.

Mux was founded in 2015 by Jon Dahl, Steve Heffernan, Matt McClure, and Adam Brown, four engineers and veterans of online video who are passionate about video technology and performance. The team now includes engineers from YouTube, Twitch, Brightcove, and Facebook.

Roadmap

Launching a mobile app is one thing. Maintaining it is another. One of the biggest benefits to using Versl Core is our commitment to updates and staying in sync with OS releases. For instance, Android 11 was just released last week and iOS 14 is on the way. Versl Core is compatible with both.

We’re constantly monitoring client feedback and looking for ways to improve the framework. By utilizing Versl Core you will have access to all updates and new features.

Thank You

Launching Versl Core was a massive effort. I just want to sincerely thank our team, our partners, and our clients. I’m really interested to see how you’ll leverage what we’ve created. Feel free to connect with me directly (LinkedIn|Instagram) and reach out with any questions.
